To a considerable extent, we are all products of the places we grew up and the lessons we learned through the everyday experiences of our youth.

Taking stock of those early influences can help us better understand what makes us tick, and it can help us better relate to others across cultural difference.
In today's class, we will teach honor and wrestle with our roots by composing our own version of a "Where I Come From" poem. Participants will be encouraged, but not required, to share their poems with the group.
