250th Navy Fitness Birthday Challenge!

Thursday, Oct. 16 | 2:30 p.m.

Celebrate 250 years with this FREE challenge! Honor our enduring legacy! Show your strength and resolve by completing three formidable challenges: ~ 250 yard swim | 2,500 meter row | 2:50 plank ~

All MWR-eligible patrons 18+ will receive a commemorative T-shirt, while supplies last.

 

FAQs 

 

  • Do I need to pre-register? 

  • You can sign up day of the race. Please head to the Gear Issue Desk at the Commons to register and receive your Birthday Fitness Challenge Card to track your progress. 

  • Is this a race? 

  • No, the challenge allows for all participants to go at their own pace in order to complete each modality. 

  • How does the Birthday Fitness Challenge Card work? 

  • An MWR Staff Member or Volunteer will sign off after each challenge has been completed. 

  • What are the prizes? 

  • Once completed, please turn in your Birthday Fitness Challenge Card to the Gear Issue Desk, take our quick survey and choose a 250th Navy Birthday moisture-wicking t-shirt OR hat. 

  • I want to participate but I have injuries or restrictions, are there alternatives? 

  • Address your concerns with a fitness specialist and they will present a modality so that all can participate. 

  • What if I’m running late? 

  • We will accept participants to enter the pool for the plank/swim portion no later than 4:30pm. 

  • How long will it take to complete the event? 

  • This is dependent on each participant’s fitness level.
