WHAT TO EXPECT:

·The incumbent performs heavy physical labor involving facility and grounds maintenance

·The position requires moving and organizing equipment, supplies, furniture, and materials by hand or by mechanical means

·Maintains an inventory of hand and power tools, large equipment and inflatable bounce equipment and ensures they are in good working order·Ability to follow general instructions or simple drawings to perform tasks requiring significant manual skill

·Observes required safety, sanitation, environmental, hazardous waste disposal, and housekeeping rules and regulations

·Makes minor repairs, paints, and may perform carpentry work. Assists the mechanic with maintaining and cleaning rental equipment

·Other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

·Safely operates equipment around buildings, walls, trees, fence lines, banks and hillsides, trenches, curbs, rocks and other visible obstacles

·Knowledge of safe and efficient operating techniques of various large equipment and powertools

·Responsible for working independently aftergetting initial oral or written instructions and to complete routine assignments in accordance with general policy, past practice, or simple drawings or specifications

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

·Must  meet  Federal  Employment  suitability  requirements  and  successful  completion  of  background investigation

·Must possess or be able to obtain a fork lift driver’s license, first aid, and CPR certifications within the first 60 days of employment

·Must be able to obtain a Safe Inflatable Operators Training Organization (SIOTO) certification

·Must possess and maintaina valid driver’s license

·Travel may be required

·Work  indoors may  expose  the  worker  to  drafts,  noise,  dust  and  dirt,and  require  standing  on  concrete floors for long periods. Special care is required to avoid serious injuries. Outdoor work is performed in all kinds of weather

·Outdoor work is performed in all kinds of weather. May be required to wear issued protective gear such as safety gloves, hearing protection, safety glasses, boots, etc.
