Whidbey Uncovered: Art & Ecology Island Exploration

Saturday, Aug. 29 | 8 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. | $25, $22 LIBERTY-Eligible

Discover the natural beauty of Whidbey Island with MWR! Explore places like Deception Pass, Coupeville, Fort Casey, and Langley while learning the science behind some of these remarkable landscapes. An ecology professional will accompany us to teach us about tidepools, whales, and more. Nature journaling materials will be provided so each person can make their own journal to sketch in, write in, or both!

We will stop in Coupeville for lunch. Bring your own spending money for lunch, or a sack lunch if you do not wish to eat out. The deadline to sign up is August 21st at 3 PM.

There will be a very short hike at Deception Pass—less than a mile with under 300 ft elevation gain. Participants should dress for the weather with walking shoes and bring extra layers like a light jacket and rain coat. Plan to bring a daypack with at least 1L of water and plenty of snacks to eat during the trip. No Crocs.
